While this article appears to be well researched, it misses the mark, and I am hopeful that the journalists have the courage and professionalism to interview the Chairman of HuckPAC, Mike Huckabee, so that they get a more complete picture of the strategy behind HuckPAC.

Historically, HuckPAC has been an effective ally of conservative candidates. If you examine the last election cycle, which was 2010, not 2011, you will see that HuckPAC was extremely effective on a shoe-string budget. Thousands of calls were made on behalf of conservative candidates, in fact, Real Clear Politics posted that HuckPAC was responsible for pushing Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia, into the win column.

I think that you will see, that once the dust settles, and we actually have a nominated candidate, HuckPAC will swing into action. HuckPAC is not supported by big money, it is a grass roots organization, and when you don't have big bucks, you are a lot more careful about how the money is spent, so the fact that it was not spent in 2011 is actually a good thing, the real battle will be after the GOP nomination. Make no mistake, Obama is well organized, well funded, and will be a challenge. HuckPAC doesn't shoot until they see the whites of their eyes.

By the way, I have personally seen Governor Huckabee travel to events to support conservative candidates, often on his own dime. To my knowledge, and his own testimony, he has never taken a dime from HuckPAC. I have been associated with him for several years and he is a man of the highest integrity.
